Work

I specialise in producing a range of interactive , visually stimulating, and engaging online learning support tools for distance learning. Currently I am working as part of a team developing online language learning programmes both for in-house use by the Language Centre at Cambridge University and also for externally funded projects.

As the lead Actionscript developer my principle involvement is the development of the SCORM 1.2 compliant e-learning application called English at Your Fingertips (”e@yf”).

Whilst working for Cambridge University I have gained great experience of how IT skills coupled with sound pedagogical knowledge can be applied in a wide-range of teaching situations. I have an understanding of appropriate use of e-learning in teaching and assessment.

I have several years experience as a web developer producing award winning interactive and educational web applications for the biomedical, educational and scientific industries. My work has been featured on many companies web sites such as

  • Aventis
  • Astrazeneca
  • The Lundbeck Institute
  • GalaxoSmithKline
  • Schering
  • Pfizer

Originally coming from science background I have been working professionally in Information Technology since 1999. In addition to holding an MSc in Information Technology from UCL I also have a BSc in Biotechnology and an MSc in Neuroscience.
